'Boardwalk Empire' is a 31 meter long circular boardwalk made of pallets which challenges the traditional subject/object relationship:
Initially the work restricts the viewer's access. Secondly the work necessitates that the viewer change their normal method of locomotion to adapt to the form/structure. Thirdly the work tests an individuals memory by creating a repetitive experience of walking around in circles on the structure(Is it possible to remember every instance of the same experience? If not, then which instance is the "true" memory? Or is the memory just an amalgamation of all experiences?). Finally, the work leaves the participant trapped within the singular barrier created by the work.
An individual who chooses to interact with the work is then constricted by the 'Boardwalk Empire'.
